[ Medb isn't avoiding anyone or anywhere. She was quite clear about where she stood at the end of trial even if it wasn't a popular sentiment, but she'll stop when she sees Gu Yun. ]

I know you wanted to keep him alive.

Mn. You didn't. [ he shrugs. ] Ultimately, the rule of the majority is how the cards will fall - I'm not hurt by it.

[ gu yun wasn't that close to law. ] He acted recklessly, acting on a hunch instead of any solid proof. I can't say that I condone killing out of revenge - blood just gets more blood.

I won't say I can't understand the feelings of revenge.

[ She's lived long enough in any of her lives to experience enough. ]

But it's not enough to remove my own.

[ Not during this week when sins are more rampant than ever. ]

[ he. shrugs. ]

I understand that, too. [ really it's fine. gu yun's a pretty impartial guy, so. ] I'm glad we were able to catch him, for your sake at least.

[ Medb lets some of her imperiousness diminish, and she sighs. ]

In some ways, I think we, as a whole, needed to catch someone. Personal feelings aside, I can recognize that, too.

[ gu yun huffs, a little wry. ] Morale was already low enough that conspiracy theories were starting to float around.

Harrow's little trap may have made killers think about relying so much on the healing pods, now, too. Whether people are unhappy with what happened this week or not, I think a little victory like that can be well celebrated no matter what.

Mm. I do think that was quite brilliant of Harrow.

[ That is genuine, and she smiles because she will almost always appreciate ingenuity like that. ]

It will mean people have to become more creative, if they want to keep whittling our numbers down, but - [ She nods. ] It is a victory.

I found out about it on Friday morning, and spent some time doing some very strange things looking at people's hands. [ wehehe. ] I completely missed them setting the trap, too! It was very, very clever indeed.

Do you know, when I asked Harrow why she didn't tell me right away, she said - and I quote! - that I didn't get to find out because I would have started making the exact same joke as Molly.

It's a terrible joke for something so clever. I hope the people whose hands you looked at thought you were a weirdo.

[ There is little less bite to her words, though. ]

[ he will reach for one of medb's hands, if she'll let him! ]

Well, I didn't handle it the same way Harrow did.

[ She lets him!

She waits, looking at him expectantly. Wow her. ]

[ it's not really wowing, but. he lowers his head a bit and smiles - a little bit play-awkward, but warm and genuine, almost boyish, eyes lowered to peek up at her from through his lashes. gu yun's all peach blossom eyes in every situation - flirtatious, but appearing utterly, charmingly genuine as he pulls her hand up, and lays a kiss on her knuckles, making eye contact in the process, lingering just long enough.

as he lowers her hand again; ] I've got a pretty strong sense of smell, so I haven't needed to do anything particularly outrageous. [ fufu. ]

[ She laughs softly. She doesn't mind this at all. Terrible. ]

You're quite smooth and charming. Does it get you into a lot of trouble at home?

Haha. Not really.

[ he'll let go of her hand, now, though. ] I don't really get to see many beautiful women - such is the life of a soldier.

Does it have to be with women?

[ She tilts her head with a smile. ]

I'm sure you could be just as devastating with men.

[ he puts his chin between his finger and thumb, grinning. ]

Oh, no. I am an equal opportunity devastation. [ and then, laughs! ] However, I am not remotely interested in doing so with a single member of the Black Iron Camp. The idea makes me want to shudder, a bit.

[ She hums. ]

No one up to your beauty standards?

[ She's teasing. She's guessing those are the men directly under his leadership, and the dynamics would make it strange. ]

Not before I came here, certainly. [ he gladly plays along with the teasing, hamming it up a bit, even. after all of that, sometimes it's nice to have a little levity. ] I am the flower of the Northwest, after all. The most beautiful thing in the Black Iron Camp.
